The common Filipino phrase is inseparable from my recollections of my Lola’s cooking. Within this series of illustrative and photographic posters, I present a traditional eye chart, a test to determine the deterioration of our eyesight, accompanied by diamond-shaped figures, alluding to the Indigenous Philippines Ilocano tribal symbols for eyes. These are paired with pixelated depictions of food, distorted beyond recognition. Together, they embody my cultural struggle to remember and recreate those home-cooked meals of my youth, only to discover they are lost within the fog of memory.
