In this collaborative project with Christian Alvarado and Julia Stalnaker, we conceived a device that serves as a receptacle for the energy of spirits that exist beyond the physical realm. Through an installation that integrates sculpture, video, performative, and participatory elements, viewers encounter this Spirit Box seeking its mystical guidance. As it produces unconventional fortunes translated into cryptic messages, its authenticity becomes variable as a quantifiable measurement of a magical presence fluctuates before our eyes.
